Elk Tooth
Hunters who keep certain animal parts as trophy's..........?

Those of you who do this .do you think there is any spiritual significance to things like a bear tooth or claw or elk tail.....or that by wearing certain parts... it gives strength , or a curse to the one who did not make the kill.
Nor do I believe in magic for it is written it is of the devil and has no power.....never the less,Once a friend gave me a bear tooth and the whole time I wore this around my neck, nothing but trouble followed me , so I gave it back, and it all stoped , my thinking is now thus wise: The tooth must be worn by the one who took its life as the new owner of :" the spirit of the bear" like drinking a cup of fresh blood from the deer or the spirit of the deer !...........who knows ?
Or......the spirit of the Large mouthed bass..........LMAO!!!!!
Dru..........I believe you.

I believe that some indians kept these things because they had spiritual value.... I have read that they also believed you could become part of an animal if you shed his blood and he shed yours...I may be wrong about this, but I do remember reading that.....

This may sound silly but, I have deep feelings about what I kill.... I love hunting and love pulling the trigger and do mount my trophy's... but I also think that for me anyway, nature is in my soul and that includes every animal that is a part of it....I thank God every time I make a kill and I thank the animal for the sacrifice... I don't take for granted the value that they have..... so I guess to answer your question I do believe that these things give you strength....A strength that is in your heart... I always keep a "good luck charm" from every animal... I have always felt more at home in the woods than in a house.....

I agree with you about the bears tooth..... and I want to say that I have never told anyone this before, but my grandfather fought in Vietnam and he passed before I was born.... however, I found his dog tags and wore them every single day.... I swear they brought me bad luck.... I don't understand why, but I could even feel it when I put them on... I thought they would bring me good luck... I stopped wearing them, but have them put up... I wonder why??

WOP2 99 - Thank you very much !!!!
