It is economic to buy. Now days a few new fridges feature an in-built ice cream maker so save the power loss.
The third kind of machine is the big machines that have a built in freezing mechanism. They do not need being pre-chilled. It is a very fast process, within minutes the liquid and the mix can be poured and in half hour it is made. There is no delay of time between batches of ice cream that are made. This sort of machine is terribly expensive and can't be moved as simply. It has to be in a fixed position. Moving of the machine can wreck the freezing system of the machine.
